Turning point

July has started from today. (It’s July 2nd, today. But, since it was Sunday yesterday, today it is the first business working day in this month.)
It also means another testing window of USCPA exam has opened. I know some of the exam candidates are planning to fly over to the States to sit for the exam. I wish good luck to those who have prepared enough for the exam. If you think you’ve done enough, than you have only to show it. Just relax and never get too nervous! Just prove yourself in front of the PC in the test center. Don’t forget to smile when you take a photo before entering the exam room to relax yourself! (I did so!) Make this chance your turning point to change the course of your life in a good and right direction!

Once a year, each employee is called into the corner office to be informed of his/ her new standard of salary of the year, based upon the evaluation of his/her performance of the previous year. And today was the day. If I do say so myself, I knew I did a great job last year. But I also knew that it’s not as easy to win a good evaluation here in this world; it’s highly competitive field, and all the competitors around me are very smart and talented.
I could feel I am nothing among them.
Therefore, I couldn’t believe it when I was informed that I got a raise and got promoted as well. Upon hearing the news, I doubted if someone in the personnel dept. has read the article that I wrote the other day… No way. But now I certainly got what I think is a fair value of myself in this field of business.
Anyway, I was so glad to have earned a good evaluation. It seemed to me that all the efforts I had made by squeezing myself so hard in the past are now blooming. I was happy when my wife shared the good news together when I got back home today, because it was, with no doubt, her dedicated support that made it possible for me to achieve this.
But, this change made me give a second thought about switching jobs. The more evaluation I earn here in the current working place, the more difficult it becomes to quit it. What would be the best choice, after all? I’m certainly on the turning point. What’s around the corner? Well, nobody but I should know the answer.
Gotta think deeper and deeper.
