Happy Birthday
Today was the birthday of my wife.
I bought a small piece of birthday cake and a bunch of flower bouquet on my way home. Upon arriving home, I brought them to my room, hiding them in my large business bag, and put tiny candles on the cake, which I put on the on the desk. After lighting candles, I turned off the light of the room and called her in. I successfully surprised her and gave her the flower bouquet. So it worked well, and then I thanked her for supporting me everyday. I have to work harder on both business and study so that I can make her happier.
How to count things? ***************
cake は不可算名詞なので、a piece of、two pieces of などと数えると受験英語で学びました。
a piece of cakeで「とても簡単なこと(朝飯前)」という慣用表現にもなって紛らわしいので、a small piece of cakeとしてみました。
