Is Emission Trading System really good for Earth?

Emission trading is becoming active and the market of emission credit is widely spreading. Kyoto Protocol limits the membership countries’ rights to emit global warming gasses. As a result, developed countries are in trouble, because their people, who are accustomed with convenient consuming life, can hardly limit gas emission, and so those developed countries need more emission credits. In developing countries, on the other hand, the industries haven’t developed enough to use up all the emission credits. This gap of needs for emission credits naturally led to the formation of trading markets of rights to emit gas. Although I’m one of those who have something to do with such a business, I have a small doubt, “Is this what was supposed to be done? ”

Maybe, what should have happened as a result of Kyoto Protocol is the situation where gas emitting countries make much effort to reduce the amount of global warming gases. But, now they are buying more rights to emit gases instead of reducing gas emitting activities. It is true that they can buy the right by reducing the amount of global warming gas that was to be emitted from developing countries. But those countries are well behind the developed countries and those people are suffering from the low standard of living. It seems to me that what’s happening in the world is that people in the developed countries are sacrificing people in the developing countries.

Again I realized that money can change the world either in a good way or in a bad way, depending on how people control the flow of money in the world.
