Tokyo – Day 2 –

Since yesterday, I’m staying in Tokyo.
I finished all the business that I was supposed to do by noon, when I was in Nagata city.
Nagata city is famous as a place of hottest lobbying activity in Japan. I hear the name of this city everyday in TV, newspaper, etc. I walked around to enjoy (?) the air of Nagata city, visiting…

The capitol of Japan,

the Supreme court,

… and the Imperial Palace.

I was enchanted with the beauty of the greenery of the Imperial palace, around which a moat runs. I walked along with the moat, and I saw many joggers passing by me on the footpath. I’ve heard of people jogging around the imperial palace but never believed until I actually see them today. But now I can understand. It should be very refreshing to run around such a beautiful place.

20 minutes walk led me to a gate, which is near Tokyo station.
It’s fun to see the contrast between the traditional architecture and the modern buildings in the back!

Since I came back to Tokyo station, I visited the head office of my company just to see what it is like; I thought I’ll never have a chance to see the head office if I miss this opportunity!

Then, at the Tokyo station,

I got on a Time Machine…

, which took me back to EDO period (around 1600 to 1800)!!

To my relief, it was not real ancient Tokyo, but it was Edo-Tokyo "museum," actually.

It was Mr. Kyoroich who kindly took me on a tour, showing around Tokyo area. Without his generosity I couldn’t have enjoyed this trip in Tokyo as much as this! Thank you, kyoro-san!

The black wood box that I was in was called kago, and was used to carry people in Edo period, as a mean of transportation. (Two strong men used to carry the box, hanging the end of the wood bar on their shoulders.)

I enjoyed learning the history and traditional culture of Tokyo, comparing them to those of Osaka.

Then I got trapped into another time trip accident!

(↑just kidding, of course. It was just that the camera got jiggled!)

Next moment I found myself standing in the midst of a hot tourist spot in Tokyo --- Roppongi hills! Of course not such a imaginary Time Machine, but Mr. Kyoroich took me here so that I can actually see one of the hottest spot in Tokyo.

The building was so magnificent …

and towering high above!

The view gave me a sudden urge to take a photo

, which scene was taken by Mr. kyoroich as shown above.

After walking around Roppongi hills, he took me to Nihonbashi, where we were supposed to meet Mr. Kawashima and Mr. Urushihara for dinner.

You can check out how the dinner went by visiting Kyoro’s report on his blog.

It was for the first time for me to actually meet Mr. Kawashima, though we had been exchanging messages on our blogs so far. Talking with him in person, I was inspired by his manner of speech, which was amusing and intellectual, controlling and facilitating our conversation so that all the perticipants can enjoy the dinner. The speech given by the creative director and president of an advertising production was so educational to me that, actually, I learned a lot from him. Thank you so much, Kawashima-san!

The dinner, which started with Mr. Kyoroichi’s elegant music performance, was really deep and interesting. Mr. Kyoroich is also a master of mathematics and a fluent speaker of French, and Mr. Urushihara, an old friend of mine, is a professional writer, and the speaker of English and Indonesian. The dinner wasn’t just a dinner but it was even a discussion on various topics. Thanks again, Kyoro-san. I appreciate again your dedication to prep for the dinner.

The night, Mr. Urushihara kindly put me up for one night and discussion kept on with glasses of whiskey in his office, until we felt asleep in the midnight…

… I guess I was drunk a little…..

I hope I didn’t misbehaved myself, did I? ….Sorry if I did!
